You must be effing dumb.
It’s not an art film, the main character was drafted into an art film.
It’s called “A Serbian Film”, because it litteraly is a film in Serbia. The actors are Serbian, the director is Serbian, and it’s a fucking metaphore for how fucked up the country is.

American Respective: I realize that I am making a really big generalization here when I say that I (and fellow Americans) did not think that this movie represented Serbian people. Honestly, the title of the movie just gives it a place to occur. It could have very well been named any of the western or European countries and the fact still remains the same- that this is one heck of a disturbing movie. In this case, ignorance is bliss. I’d like to live the rest of my life thinking that this is just a movie and that this stuff will never happen in real life… see? Like I said, in this case, I pick the “ignorance is bliss” option. This movie was horrifying, disgusting, and at the same time distasteful. I did like it because it was quite creative but at the same time, it was horrifying to know what human mind can create… And I can’t believe this was premiered at a South by Southwest film festival. Wow!?! And I thought the scenes in Antichrist were bad.

This is just a sick movie with no art in it.
This film should be banned from all theaters world wide.
And what is that crap about calling it “Serbian”.
What are Serbs? People who like to kill and torture other people? I don’t think so!
The director should be ashamed for making that king of movie and calling it Serbian.

First off this is not a metaphorical movie about the atrocities in Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, but one that is ultraviolent for the attention and to make a quick buck. Shock and horror can be used to make a statement, just look at Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest Proposal”, but it has to be done well. This is just torture porn and to be a little crude myself, your review mentality is jacked up. So it’s OK to watch a scene where some dude rapes a baby, but as you put it “thankfully” there were no penises in the first third of the movie. Oh no not male genitalia, but baby raping hell yeah. Dude get your priorities straight.

Hey,I’m from Serbia,and I just want to say that this film is absolutely the worst film someone could make…A lot of Serbs think that that guy is sick and of course that’s not the true “color” of Serbia and Serbs. We are nice and friendly people and Serbia is a beautiful country…I think that they didn’t show the movie in Serbia,or if they did,small number of people watched it…
