The trailer for A Nightmare On Elm Street 2010 (the ‘remake’) is now online! Not only does it show us one Mr Frederick Krueger pre-torching, it also show’s Freddy POST-torching!
Left is a snapshot from the trailer (which I’ve brightened) showing the new Freddy make-up. While the face looks OK, it’s his voice which grates. It’s sounds completely emotionless.
Anyway, I’ll wait until April 2010 then pass judgment on it, but it looks like it’s using set pieces from the first few films in an attempt to (in my opinion) play it safe.
We shall see…
For now, have a looksy at the trailer and pass comment…

I’m so very excited about this. The original is one of my favorite horror movies. Thanks for posting the trailer!
You are dead on about the voice! I’m skeptical because Micheal Bay could ruin this for everyone.
SHHHHH!!!!!
Don’t mention ‘the Bay’ in case Alex hears you! He gets very upset when you mention ‘him’.

Bay has totally messed up everything he has his hands on . I have been watching horror movies since the 70′s and outside of Paranormal activity Bays movies suck …. There is no doubt in my mind just from watching the trailer he has destroyed Freddy for us all …
Unbelievable!! if your a freddy fan this is a outrage!!! i mean did you see his face!! and hear his voice?? B.S. bring back englund!!!
To be fair though, they seem to have taken such problems on board and fixed his voice in the second trailer:

I think the face looks OK, more accurate for a burn victim.
I’m so excited for this movie. The original is the only movie that can scare me. So I really hope this one is amazing even though Robert englund won’t be on it and I hate michael bay but at least they’re keeping the same story line. It comes out on my birthday so yay
