This was one of the films that really sunk me so deep into horror, I still have yet to return from its depths. It's great because of its unflinching brutality and pure creative genius. We laugh at a zombie fighting a shark now a days, but that's some wild shit when you think about it. Wild and inventive. The acting is...the acting. 70's zombie film, no academy steeping in here to give anybody any awards. The gore is top notch, and I do believe that the Italians had some of the best effects men this side of Savini. Disgusting, violent, and a bleak riot from start to finish. Fulci is a fucking legend. The only that tops this is his film "The Beyond", which is a opus of a gore film. Zombi 2/Zombi/Zombi Flesh Eaters, whatever the title you see it under, see it.
